The tentative 2022-2025 collective agreement reached by your NBA bargaining team on March 31 is an historic achievement delivering record-setting compensation for BC’s nurses. It comes after months of meetings between NBA negotiators and HEABC, bringing the collective voice of thousands of nurses to the bargaining table. 

CSS Bargaining Update: New wage grids finalized

New wage grids for members working in community social services have been finalized. The new grids reflect the increases negotiated for the new 2022-2025 collective agreement and ratified by members last month, and are to take effect the first full pay period after April 1, 2022 (retroactive) and the first full pay period after April 1, 2023.

HSA members invited to register to watch annual convention proceedings April 19-21

This year, HSA will be offering a video stream of the proceedings of Convention 2023 to allow all HSA members the opportunity to tune in to observe registered delegates debate resolutions forwarded from HSA chapters across the province, and set the union’s course for the coming year at the union’s 52nd annual convention being held April 19-21 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Vancouver.

Historic Tentative Agreement Reached Between NBA and HEABC

The Nurses’ Bargaining Association (NBA) bargaining committee reached a tentative collective agreement with the Health Employers Association of BC (HEABC) this evening. The terms of settlement include record-setting compensation for BC’s nurses. The agreement comes after months of meetings between NBA negotiators and HEABC, bringing the collective voice of thousands of nurses to the bargaining table.

Today is the Transgender Day of Visibility

Today, March 31st, is the International Transgender Day of Visibility – a day to recognize and honour transgender, non-binary, Two-Spirit, and gender diverse people. This day of observance aims to increase awareness of the contributions made by the community but also the ongoing harms and marginalization the community faces.

You’re Invited: HSA President Candidate Forum April 13

HSA members are invited to join an online forum Thursday, April 13 to meet candidates for HSA President. Delegates to the union’s 52nd annual convention April 19-21 are eligible to vote in the election for president. The election is scheduled for Friday, April 21. The forum, hosted by the union’s Elections Committee, is an opportunity to hear from and ask questions to nominated candidates.

HSPBA Negotiates Improved Wages for Cancer Care Specialists

HSA’s radiation therapists and radiation therapy service technologists will see an additional increase in wages when the April 1, 2023 wage increases are applied. Last month, Premier David Eby and Health Minister Adrian Dix released the 10-year Cancer Care Action Plan to take concrete steps to improve cancer care in British Columbia. One of the top priorities is to invest in recruitment and retention of members of the cancer care team.

CSS Members Vote in Favour of New Collective Agreement

CSS Members Vote in Favour of New Collective Agreement Members in the Community Social Services Bargaining Association (CSSBA) voted 95% in favour of the tentative agreement reached with the employers represented by the Community Social Services Employer’s Association (CSSEA). This was one of the longest rounds of negotiations in the history of this sector and we thank each member of the bargaining unit who took the time to vote and stayed engaged throughout this process.
