Steward Elections in January

Your GF Strong stewards are looking for more members to join the team.  Steward elections will be happening in January so be on the lookout for an announcement in the new year.

This is a great opportunity to participate in this vital part of the union's democratic process. Stewards play an essential role within HSA and the workplace by advocating for members, keeping members informed of union activities and providing democratic leadership. HSA provides training and ongoing support for members elected to these positions.

Why become a Steward?

  • Increase your knowledge regarding the interpretation and application of your collective agreement, employer policies and relevant legislation (Human Rights, Labour Standards and Worker’s Compensation).
  • Paid education and training, including mentorship, to help you develop your advocacy and public speaking skills at your own pace

Become a resource and a point of connection to the Union for your team. When members are connected, they participate. More participation builds stronger unions and better working conditions for all of us.
