Community Social Services: Support your bargaining team: wear red to work on Monday

Community social services workers are passionate about the people we support and the community-based services we provide. Thats why your bargaining association is asking all community social services members to wear the colour red to work on Monday (February 27), as the unions representing BCs 15,000 community social services workers return to the table to begin the next round of contract negotiations.

-We put our hearts into the work we do," said HSA President Reid Johnson. -Our members have gone through a lot of blood, sweat and tears caring for the most vulnerable people in our communities, despite chronic underfunding for services."

Having just last fall completed 26 months of bargaining for the current contract, members are anxious to see real gains this time as negotiators return to the table to go through the whole process again.

On Monday, February 27, please support your bargaining association on the first day of negotiations—and demonstrate our solidarity to the employer—by wearing red to work.
