Provisions of new HSPBA collective agreement now in force and effect

With the exception of some portions of the collective agreement ratified March 6, all provisions of the HSPBA collective agreement come into force and effect today, April 5, 2013.

There are some exceptions, as specified in negotiations, as follows:

Wages

    • A wage increase of 2 per cent for all members, excluding pharmacists, will be implemented. This increase is effective the first pay period following ratification, which is the pay period of March 15 to 28.
    • Members are encouraged to check their pay stubs to ensure the increases are applied.

37.5 Hour Work Week

    • Effective no later than September 1, 2013
    • Effective no later than November 1, 2013 (Northern Health Authority)

Transportation Allowance and Travel Expenses

    • Effective the first pay period following April 1, 2013

Shift Premiums

    • Effective January 1, 2014

Extended Health Care Coverage (Pharmacare tie-in and Bluenet pay-direct card)

    • Effective June 1, 2013

EDMP Stewards

    • Effective April 1, 2013

Professional Development Fund

    • Effective April 1, 2013
