Notice to OH&S stewards regarding OH&S courses

EB02-29 OH&S stewards who wish to take a basic occupational health and safety course are encouraged to consider taking one of the following courses:

EB02-28 HSA is offering two basic OH&S steward workshops on January 20 & 21 and February 17 & 18, 2003. Occupational health and safety issues are very important to HSA members. OH&S stewards have a vital role in promoting a safe work environment and helping to prevent injuries. These workshops will be participatory and discussion oriented. We urge you to bring examples from your workplace for discussion. The workshops will be held at the HSA Office, 300 - 5118 Joyce St., Vancouver.

BC Health Coalition supports push for federal government action to defend Canada Health Act

A coalition of social groups announced in Ottawa today that they will be taking the Chrétien government to court for its failure to comply with the Canada Health Act due to federal inaction in defending Canada's public health care system

Hold public hearings on VGH P3 clinic, says health coalition

Medicare advocates are calling on the BC government and the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority to hold immediate public hearings into their scheme to privatize the financing and operation of a new ambulatory care centre at Vancouver General Hospital. The BC Health Coalition is also challenging the health authority to release its business case for the $90 million public-private partnership so that the public can judge for themselves whether the project is financially sound, provides better health services and wont trigger expensive and risky trade disputes.

Community social services workers call on new trustee to pay up
