Meet Candidates for HSA President on Telephone Town Hall: Members invited to hear candidates, ask questions, on Tuesday May 25 at 7:00 pm

Five union members are running to replace outgoing president Val Avery at HSA’s annual convention on June 2 - 4, and they’ll be taking questions from members around the province at a telephone town hall set for Tuesday, May 25 from 7:00 to 8:30.

The event will be hosted by HSA Board Director Mandi Ayers and moderated by Sussanne Skidmore, Secretary-Treasurer of the BC Federation of Labour. All candidates have been invited to deliver opening statements, take questions from participating members, and end with closing statements.

How to Participate:

  • All HSA members who have provided the union with a phone number will be contacted by phone -- first with a recorded announcement delivered by phone on Friday, May 21, then with a call between 7:00 and 7:10 PM on Tuesday, May 25. This second call will allow members to connect directly into the live meeting.
  • To join the call, simply answer your phone when we call between 7:00 and 7:10 PM on May 25, and you will be connected.
  • If you are concerned that HSA does not have your phone number, please send your full name and contact info to @email – or you can update your information here.

While telephone town halls are an innovative and useful tool, it is not a perfect system. If you have trouble connecting, send an email to @email with your full name and worksite. You will be provided immediate assistance in connecting. Live troubleshooting updates will be available at facebook.com/hsabc and twitter.com/hsabc during the event. You don't need a facebook or twitter account to view.
