HSPBA Classification Review Tool Now Online

All full- and part-time health science professionals covered by the Health Science Professionals Bargaining Association collective agreement have until November 15 to review their job descriptions and new employer-assigned classification profiles – and HSA has launched an online tool that will make this much, much easier than it sounds.

The tool, which you can access on your phone or laptop using your personal email address, will walk you through a series of questions that will generate a personalized assessment of your new employer-assigned classification profile. It will even fill out and submit the profile match objection form should the assessment determine that the employer has assigned you to the wrong classification profile.

It will take no more than 15 minutes of your time, and for most members, it will go even faster.

And by completing the review, you will be helping achieve a massive modernization of the health care system – while making sure your job is classified and paid correctly. Both of which are a pretty big deal.

Here’s what you need to do:

STEP ONE: MAKE SURE HSA HAS YOUR UP-TO-DATE PERSONAL EMAIL

Because the classification review tool will generate a personalized assessment, you’ll need your personal email address registered with HSA to set it up.

Click here to make sure HSA has your current personal e-mail, and update it if needed.

STEP TWO: YOUR EMPLOYER WILL GIVE YOU YOUR CURRENT JOB DESCRIPTION AND EMPLOYER-ASSIGNED CLASSIFICATION PROFILE

The employer is required to provide you with this documentation no later than September 22.

Some members may have already received theirs; if you don’t receive anything by September 22, speak to your employer to request yours. If that doesn’t work, let HSA know.

It’s important to note that only full and part-time employees need to participate in the review process. If you work casual you won’t receive these documents from the employer; your regular full- and part-time colleagues who participate in the review, along with HSA classifications staff, will ensure that the job description you work under is classified correctly.

STEP THREE: USE THE ONLINE TOOL

You’ll need to spend 15 minutes – probably less – answering the tool’s simple questions.

This must be done before November 15 and we strongly recommend you do it sooner in case you need union support with any issues that come up. You can find the classifications review tool link on HSA’s dedicated webpage for the classifications review:
