Further to the June 28, 2018 email sent to you regarding the details of the tentative agreement reached for Community Social Services workers, meeting dates for voting on the agreement have now been set, with the first meeting happening next Tuesday, July 10, 2018.

Community Bargaining Association – tentative agreement details
June 28, 2018
Details of the Community Bargaining Association tentative agreement are now available for members here. HSA’s Board of Directors will meet on Tuesday, July 3 to review the terms, and to make a recommendation to members on whether to support the tentative collective agreement. HSA is a member of the Community Bargaining Association, which represents 16,000 community health workers – including 1000 HSA members.
Community Bargaining Association reaches tentative agreement for workers in community health

The Community Bargaining Association and the Health Employers’ Association of British Columbia have reached a tentative agreement on a new collective agreement. HSA represents almost 1000 members in the bargaining association and was represented at the bargaining table by staff negotiator Jessica Derynck and member representative Katherine Oliver, a child care assistant at Thompson Nicola Family Resource Society.

CSSBA and CSSEA prepare to bargain through the weekend

The Community Social Services Bargaining Association (CSSBA) continues to negotiate with the Community Social Services Employers’ Association (CSSEA) on non-monetary proposals. Both parties have agreed to increase their negotiating days and are therefore preparing to work through the weekend towards an agreement.

Hale elected to HSA Board of Directors
June 6, 2018
HSA members in Region 8 have elected Cherylee Hale as their representative on the union’s Board of Directors. Her election is effective immediately for a two-year term that ends at conclusion of HSA’s annual convention in 2020.
Hale is a cardiology technologist working at Penticton Regional Hospital and Kelowna General Hospital. She has also worked at Kootenay Lake Hospital and Trail Regional Hospital. For 28 years throughout her working career, she has been an active union member, initially with HEU and then as an HSA member.
CSSBA focuses negotiations on occupational health and safety proposals

The Community Social Services Bargaining Association (CSSBA) has now concluded its third week of negotiations with the Community Social Services Employers’ Association (CSSEA). The groups exchanged more proposals with a focus on occupational health and safety issues and concerns.
