OH&S Conference

This conference is open to any HSA member representing the union on a Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee.  Wage loss, travel and hotel costs will be covered according to HSA policies.

The proposed agenda is as follows:

DAY 1:  Monday, June 16th

8:30 a.m.       Registration, Coffee and Pastries
9:00 a.m.       Conference Opening/Welcome/Introductions
9:15 a.m.       Keynote Speaker:
Dr. Joti Samra – CSA Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace and Guarding Minds @ Work
10:45 a.m.     World Café – Small group discussions on workplace mental health
11:30 a.m.     Report Out
Noon               LUNCH (provided)
1:00 p.m.       Experienced participants* rotate through the following one hour workshops: 
                          Workshop #1: The role of the JOHS Committee member in incident investigations
                          Workshop #2: The role of the JOHS Committee member in workplace inspections
                          Workshop #3: Achieving results through the recommendation process
*These workshops will be for conference participants who have had recent (within the last 2 years) basic JOHS Committee training.

JOHS Committee Reps who have not had recent training attend the following 3.5 hour workshop:
