HSA offers second Election Campaign School

Due to the large number of members who have expressed an interest in getting involved in the upcoming provincial election, HSA is holding another 2-day, non-partisan election campaign school.

This workshop is designed for HSA members with little or no experience in electoral politics, but who are interested in working on election campaigns or running for political office. The school will focus on opportunities for involvement in the May 2013 provincial election, but will also touch on municipal and federal elections.

If you want to help elect representatives who will support public health care and community social services, then HSAs election campaign school is for you!

Campaign School Dates:
Monday, February 4 & Tuesday, February 5, 2013

HSA Office, 300 - 5118 Joyce Street, Vancouver

Participants will discuss the various roles that HSA members can play during the pre-election and election periods. Workshop topics include:
• The nomination process & nomination campaigns
• Overview of an election campaign
• Pre-election work
• Campaign positions (who does what)
• How to get involved
• How HSA can support members to run or work in elections.

Planning for the provincial election is well underway, and there are already many opportunities for HSA members to get involved. Come to HSAs election campaign school to find out how you can make a difference in your community.
