Allied Health Provincial Consultation Survey

Members,  The Ministry of Health has launched an Allied Health Provincial Consultation. As part of this consultation, the Ministry has developed an online survey to collect information from Health Science Professionals in seven focus areas: identity and recognition, workforce and practice optimization, leadership, education and training, recruitment, retention, and partnerships and collaboration.

HSA Donating To Indian Residential Schools Survivors Society

HSA Donating TO INDIAN RESIDENTIAL SCHOOLS SURVIVORS SOCIETY   As people across this country pause to reflect on the horrors inflicted by the Canadian residential school program for Indigenous Peoples, and the ongoing trauma suffered by the families and communities affected, HSA is donating $25,000 to the Indian Residential Schools Survivors Society, an organization with a twenty-year history of providing essential services to Residential School Survivors, their families, and those dealing with Intergenerational traumas.  

Kane Tse Elected HSA President

Delegates to HSA’s 50th annual convention have elected Kane Tse, an Assistant Bioinformatics Coordinator at Vancouver Cancer Centre, to serve as President. “We have a lot of things to accomplish in front of us,” Tse told delegates. “Some of them are going to be challenging, some are going to be rewarding. But we’re going to get through them together, and most importantly, they’re going to be ours to celebrate.”

HSA and BC Government Agree on New Funding for Professional Development

Working in partnership with the government of British Columbia, Health Sciences Association of BC has secured $3 million in new funding to support professional development for members covered by the Health Sciences Professional Bargaining Association collective agreement. The funding, provided by the BC Ministry of Health, will allow members to pursue further specialization of skills in key professions.
