Community Health Services and Support: New bargaining dates scheduled

Community Health bargaining is scheduled to resume January 7, 2013.
When bargaining resumes in the new year, the bargaining committee is looking for the employer to bring a solid offer to the table that meets the needs of the Community Bargaining Association

The CBA represents more than 14,000 members, the majority of whom are represented by the BCGEU. Other unions at the table are HSA, UFCW, HEU, CUPE, USWA, and CLAC.

Community social services: job action continues this week

Aboriginal Service workers and social workers from Vancouver Aboriginal Child and Family Services Society (VACFSS) are on strike on Tuesday, December 4. Striking workers want to send a clear message to the BC government: stop putting vulnerable Aboriginal families last!

International Day of Persons with Disabilities: inclusion for all

On December 3, the world recognizes International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE) is calling on all levels of government in Canada to make full participation in society for people with disabilities a policy priority.

People with disabilities already make a considerable contribution to our society but they could do so much more if the barriers to their participation are removed.
