NBA members vote in favour of new collective agreement

Members of the Nurses Bargaining Association have voted 61 per cent in favour of a new collective agreement effective April 21, 2022 to March 31, 2025.

Highlights of the contract include significant pay increases amounting to a minimum of 13 to 14% over three years, depending on whether cost-of-living protections are triggered by BC inflation in year three, with retroactive increases going back to April 1, 2022.

Kane Tse Re-Elected President of Health Sciences Association

Delegates to HSA’s annual convention this morning voted to re-elect Kane Tse to serve as president for a second term.

“All of you are what makes HSA the caring organization that it is,” Tse told delegates following the vote. “I couldn’t be more proud to be your president and have this precious opportunity for another two years. Our aim of achieving strong contracts, for an active and vocal membership, and to become the leaders of change marches on. Change not just for HSA members, but also for people in British Columbia and for the benefit of our public health care system.”

HSA welcomes Supreme Court of Canada decision to end assault on public health care

HSA President Kane Tse today welcomed the momentous news that Dr. Brian Day and Cambie Surgeries Corporation’s assault on the public health care system in British Columbia has reached the end of the legal road  with a decision by the Supreme Court of Canada that it will not hear an appeal of the decisions of BC courts to uphold the BC Medicare Protection Act.
