or the past four years, HSA members have been working to have their voices heard and counted.

From
speaking up for your collective agreement rights at work, to
participating in HSA education opportunities, getting involved in
community groups, and speaking to your MLAs and government in meetings
and letters, you have been working to have your voice count. This
year, when all British Columbians have an opportunity to speak up about
issues important to them – through the provincial election on May 17
and the municipal elections in the fall, HSA is working to help your
voice count. HSA has been developing our union’s ability to make
sure our members’ needs and aspirations count in this election year
when decisions will be made that affect your work, your community, and
your family. It’s an election year. But it’s also a
pre-bargaining year. The majority of the collective agreements covering
HSA members will be up for renegotiation in 2006. This year, the focus
will be on continuing to ensure the rights outlined in the collective
agreements are upheld. It will be a year to highlight our contribution
to the health care and community social services in our province. It will be a year to make sure our voices are heard. Count us in. |
